Project Overview
This project involved the complete renovation of an existing bathroom, transforming its darker traditional design into a bright and contemporary space. The work covered decommissioning, plumbing, construction, tiling, plastering, decoration and electrical improvements.
Bathroom and Plumbing Works
The existing bathroom and shower-area stud wall were decommissioned before the new plumbing installations were completed. A new bath with mixer tap, heated towel rail, shower tray, shower enclosure, basin unit, basin tap and toilet were installed to provide a practical and well-equipped layout.
Construction and Tiling
New studwork was constructed to conceal the WC waste pipework, helping to create a cleaner finished appearance. Backer boards were installed in preparation for the new wall and floor finishes, before marble-effect tiles were fitted from floor to ceiling. A new threshold was also installed to complete the transition into the room.
Plastering and Decoration
The bathroom ceiling was professionally plastered to provide a smooth and consistent finish before being prepared and painted. Together with the light marble-effect surfaces, the refreshed ceiling helps the completed room feel brighter and more spacious.
Electrical Works
The electrical installation included an additional fuse-board unit for the bathroom and shower circuit, bringing the installation in line with current 18th Edition electrical regulations. An illuminated LED mirror, extractor fan, isolator and recessed feature lighting were also installed. Part P certification was provided for the completed electrical work.
Together, the works transformed the original bathroom into a polished contemporary space, combining practical bathing and showering facilities with floor-to-ceiling marble-effect finishes, modern lighting and carefully integrated details.
